NOTE: It is important to follow the steps in the order in which they are written to avoid the tripping out of or failure of any systems.
Collect the key from the Garage (the Garage is not locked but just stiff) Open up the house then the generator shed.
Step 2. VERY IMPORTANT
Check the oil in the generator (dipstick on the north side of the generator). Fill as required but not overfull. Ensure when filling time is given to allow the cold oil to travel through the cold engine.
Then check the water through the access hatch on the top of the casing. Step ladder is beside generator. Top up as required with water using funnel which has to be inserted inside the casing. The radiator cap can be hard to remove. Ensure you push down as you turn to remove.
Turn the generator on by turning the starting switch to RUN then allow it to run for at least 1 minute before moving to step 4.
Move to the distribution board in the generator shed and turn the DUTY SWITCH to position 1.
Set the time switch on the water plant in the water shed through the garage, to the correct time and set the timer to come on for two hours from 2am. until 4 am.
Move to the house and turn on the fire control panel (by the kitchen door) on by turning the key on the beeping panel to ‘on’ Then open the panel and press ‘Reset’. This will stop the beeping and the fire systems will be active.
Now move to the boiler room and, behind the door, locate the emergency lighting box and turn the key to the ‘on’ position. This activates the emergency lighting system. If the emergency lights come on press the ‘Reset’ button on the front of the panel.
The house is now up and running. The central heating and boiler will automatically start up.
