The 1st Around Lihou Swim

The Around Lihou Swim is a sponsored challenge swim of 2.5 km open to both individuals who wish to swim the entire distance on their own or teams of four to do the swim as a relay.
Interested parties will be asked to raise sponsorship as recognition of their individual or team efforts and this money will go to The Lihou Charitable Trust.
It is advised that individuals undertaking this challenge need be familiar with open water swimming and have a moderate level of fitness. Teams taking part in the challenge have the luxury of sharing the workload but should still be familiar with open water swimming. There will be safety boats on anchor around the island and kayaks interspersed amongst the swimmers.
Persons wishing to take part must complete and return the registration form by the 31st of July 2008.

The 'Friends of Lihou' is running another mulled wine & mince pies event after the success of last years', where over 500 mince pies were consumed and a lot of mulled wine was served! Everyone's kind donations resulted in over £700 being raised for the Trust which was put towards the running costs of the house.
